Welcome!I am an Associate Professor at the University of Turin.I am observing the atmospheres of planets orbiting other stars (exoplanets) with the aim of determining their properties, such as chemical composition and thermal structure.Characterising exoplanets is the key to understanding how they form and evolve. I am developing observational techniques that will be used in the future to target habitable planets and recognize potential signatures of life.My research is focused on ground-based spectroscopic observations of giant planets orbiting close to their parent stars (hot Jupiters), and on the analysis and interpretation of Kepler light curves of very small planets, which might be disintegrating under the intense radiation of their star.
